Concept

The posthumously published book gives an insight into the whole ­diversity of mostly unpublished works by Eva Afuhs — artist, curator, cultural manager and former director of Museum Bellerive, Zürich.

The book is like an open archive, which represents the workshop of the artist. The work is arranged in a subjective, associative, or content related manner. In between these archive “shelves”, called “depot”, other art pieces are grouped by topic. The pictures in the archive are set to fill the height of the page, this gives the reader the mental picture of a filled archive shelf. This system generates variable picture sizes and makes the layout dynamic. A series of essays are spread through the archive.
