Concept

The book presents the semester-work of the architecture office Christ & Gantenbein at the ETHZ. The content is, divided in three chapters: essays, a catalog of buildings (each displayed with floorplan, technical information and a picture) and finally a sequence of pictures that document the building in its urban context. This enables the reader to acces the different information and atmospheres just as he pleases.

Additionally, Rafael Moneo’s historical essay “On Typology” provides a theoretical framework to the research. “Typology—Paris, Delhi, São Paulo, Athens” is the second volume after “Typology—Hong Kong, Rome, New York, Buenos Aires” published by the same authors in 2012.
