Concept

The Berlin Biennial catalogue contains a list of essays, a description of the four exhibition venues and two double spreads for every artist to present his inspiration and reference material.

The catalogue is in English and German, the two languages are set parallely. Images related to the essays are set between the two languages, as a separate chapter and linked to the texts, in order to avoid repetitions.

Throughout the essays, the image captions work as a link to the images, they are set big, as if they were filling the space of an actual image. The three categories of content are set in three different layouts based on the same grid.
